Time To Go Underground? Maybe Not Yet

Earlier today I happened across the article below in The American Conservative. It is a very long article but well worth reading. As my reading comprehension is good IF I take my time with the text, I performed a “deep skim” on this article – I tried to read and absorb it without taking the time to assimilate or contemplate what the author was saying.

The long and the short of my understanding can be summed up as such:

Our nation is not as “Christian” as we would like to believe

We need God more than politics

There’s a growing chance Christians will soon be forced to take our faith underground. To this end, small groups may be the best way forward.

The author points to Europe, particularly Eastern Europe for examples. What came to my mind was a book I’d read long ago called “China Cry”. It’s a true story of a young Chinese woman. She was a Christian, born into a wealthy family. She and her siblings in Christ were forced underground and could only meet in small, secret groups.

The Most Dangerous Post-Election Lie For conservative Christians, it’s the idea that politics will deliver us from the persecution to come

In the days ahead, I hope to comment more on these issues, unless, of course, this regime suddenly deems me to dangerous and shuts me down.
